Jonathan Harland Duffy was born in Brisbane, Queensland Australia on December 16, 1985.
From a young age, Jonathan developed a keen interest in performance and this manifested in him commencing acting tuition at the age of eight.
Jonathan had hopes to carve a career for himself as an actor but found the industry difficult for someone who is openly gay.
At the age of 20, Jonathan was focused on training and teaching acting to children until he met his partner, Vincent Cornelisse.
Cornelisse, a Doctor, had a mandatory placement in rural Australia. Jonathan transitioned to the role of filmmaker in order to support his partner in this Journey.
The Doctor’s Wife is Jonathan’s first feature Documentary.
Jonathan is not only the director, he is also the writer, producer and editor.
During post production, Jonathan found it difficult to deal with record labels to negotiate the use of music and was uninspired by the available royalty free music. This lead to him scoring much of the soundtrack to the film himself, including the film’s opening song, “The Doctor’s Wife Overture.”
